Vote Bill Wolpert - October 18 Email

Checking My Environmental Credentials

My name is Bill Wolpert.  I’m running for Petaluma City Council.  This is another installment in my continuing conversation with the voters of Petaluma.

In the last few days, I traded emails with a Petaluma voter.  It was an exchange, lightly edited, that seemed worth sharing.

Voter: “I recently moved my Wolpert yard sign out to the street, behind my neighbor's curb.  As a result, I chatted with her about you, but she wasn’t convinced.  She looks to the Sierra Club for endorsements.”

Me: “You can inform your neighbor that I’ve been endorsed by the Sierra Club plus the Sonoma County Conservation Action (SCCA), the Coalition for a Better Sonoma County, and the Coalition for Grassroots Progress ... all of which are recognized for their environmental focus.  In addition, I sit on the Advisory Council for the Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary and helped oversee the expansion of the Greater Farallones and Cordell Bank sanctuaries to protect our coast from exploitation.

“There would be no one on the City Council with stronger environmental credentials."

“Please tell your neighbor that she can vote for me with comfort.”

I've begun sharing what I think about the present and future of Petaluma.  But I also want to know what you think.  Send me a message from my website or grab me at one of the events listed on my website.  I care about your opinions.

Bill Wolpert

Candidate, Petaluma City Council
