About Bill

Bill Wolpert was born in California’s Central Valley and raised on a dairy ranch. He and his younger brother and sister were active 4H members.

As a licensed architect for 30 years focusing on sustainable practices, Bill was involved Petaluma’s 2005 General Plan update. In 2007, he was appointed to Historic Site Plan and Architectural Review Committee (SPARC) until 2011, when the Petaluma City Council appointed him to the Planning Commission.

After becoming its Chair in 2014, Bill was reappointed to the Petaluma Planning Commission in 2015 by a unanimous vote of the Petaluma City Council. Moving to the Bay Area in 1999, Bill met his wife, Megan Donner, and they soon settled in Petaluma where Bill opened Green Building Architect.

Bill and Megan have lived in Petaluma for 15 years. They are passionate about protecting the environment and spending time outdoors.
